The Gnome Heads Home: Last Day in Buenos Aires

Last morning on the balcony in the Recoleta apartment

Finished reading the dictionary cover to cover...now Gnomie speaks fluent Spanish. Bien hecho Gnomie!

Found a telephone booth and attempted to call the other half in London

Fall-ing in Love With Argentina

Starting off the trip right with a bottle of Iguana beer

Walking to see La Garganta del Diablo (The Devil's Throat) at Iguazu National Park

On the walkway to see the falls

Standing at the top of the waterfalls
At the top of La Garganta del Diablo...lucky enough to see the waterfalls AND a rainbow!

Got brave enough to venture to the end of the platform...almost fell off the platform on top of the falls. Gnomie's adventures in Argentina almost came to and end, but fortunately gnomie lived to tell about it...and to take more photos with the waterfalls.

In front of La Garganta del Diablo

The falls...mist-ifying!

Trying not to get swept away with the current...it's a looong way down

Walking to the next hot spot to see the waterfalls

Standing in front of the misty falls

On the plane heading back to Buenos Aires

Didn't feel too well after eating too many empanadas....

Feeling a little bit better, playing hide and seek on the plane...too bad
the cup holders on the tray aren't good hiding places. Nice try gnomie

Weekend in the Mountains

Drinking Andes beer in the Andes mountains

Andes mountains and wine...perfect combination
At a winery, overlooking the Andes

Almost taller than the mountains

At the table, doing some wine tasting...the one on the left was the favorite

Stealing a few more sips of the Malbec

In a village near Mendoza, after horseback riding

Lovin Mendoza...the gnome found a new home

Ready to endure the 16 hour bus ride back to Buenos Aires, but sad to leave Mendoza

Gnomie Goes to Cordoba

At the church in Cordoba's main plaza

After seeing the Sitio de memoria, one of the sites where thousands of people were tortured during la Guerra Sucia

Inside the church on the main plaza

At the cabildo (town hall), one of the last Spanish-colonial style buildings left in Argentina

Looking at an overhead view of the city

Chillin on a balcony at the university in downtown Cordoba

At the courthouse in court-oba

Watching the Independence Day parade on July 9. This is the country's biggest independence day parade and  the route runs down a busy street through downtown Cordoba

Grabbing a quick bite to eat at the chocolate festival in Villa General Belgrano.

Rollin with the gnomies: Hanging out with some of her other gnome friends

Found a few more friends...

...found the bathroom
Heading back to Cordoba after the day trip to Villa General Belgrano
